To celebrate the 30th anniversary of China’ Opening and Reform, CASS Academic Council organized a series of academic reports during October 13th to 28th, 2008.  Mr Su Zhenxing, Academic Council Member and the former Director-General of ILAS, made a speech on “Opening and Reform and Development of Sino-Latin American Relations”.  Mr Su believed that the new development of the relations between China and Latin America and the Caribbean was an important composition element of China’s great diplomatic achievements in the 30 years of opening and reform.  He clarified four aspects: historical review of Sino-Latin American relations (1949-1978), opening and reform and the diplomatic policies adjustments, new development in Sino-Latin American relations, carrying forward the development of Sino-Latin American relations.  Moreover, he underlined Sino-Latin American economic and trade cooperation from the perspectives of trade and FDI.
